Knoxville Zoo - A Top Family Attraction In Knoxville

Zoo Carousel and Zoo Choo Choo mini-train ride are open during the warm weather months. A unique Zoo feature is the Camel Ride ($5) on a real live "desert ship" that can go for a week without drinking any water! Summers are hot in Knoxville, so kids cool down in the Clayton Safari Splash water feature. Wee Play Adventure is fun spot for tots, and they'll get to see Drogo the Komodo Dragon.     Zoo Knoxville is one of the largest wildlife centers in the nation. Highlights include the giraffe encounter, African lions and elephants, chimpanzees and gorillas, and the rare Bali Mynah bird. 
  • How long does the Knoxville Zoo take to visit?

    Given Zoo Knoxville's expansive size and large number of exhibits, most visitors will want to spend at least 3-4 hours touring the zoo. Keep in mind that animals may or may not be active and visible at all hours, so plan to spend more time if you plan to revisit habitats during active hours.
