Nice Hotel...

I stayed at the Crown Pointe white attending a meeting in Knoxville. It is an older property but is well kept. The staff was very friendly. It is an easy 15 minute drive from the airport and had plenty of convenient underground self parking

Great people and service at this hotel

This is an aging hotel that is nicely kept and conveniently located to most everything in downtown Knoxville but it's the people at this property that give you a reason to stay there. It is an elegantly decorated hotel with good views of the city. Try it

Ok,...but some manners needed

Went here with my husband as part of a month's trip to the southern States. We have travelled extensively in the USA and this was our first visit to Knoxville. I have no complaints generally about the hotel, but I had a poor experience in the restaurant one evening, which was completely unacceptable. My husband and I went down to the Hotel restaurant on a Sunday evening for a meal. It clearly wasn't very busy and we were shown by the manager to a suitable table. A young male waiter gave us the menus and also gave us two glasses of water. My husband had a voucher for one free drink with his meal which he produced to the young man. He asked my husband if he would like a drink . He said he would like a beer. He had not seen one of these before and so went to clear it with his manager . On his return to our table this waiter then ignored me, turned to my husband and said "would she like a drink?" Meaning me. My husband suggested curtly that it would be better if he addressed the question to me directly. I told this young man I thought he was rude I expected to be asked personally if I would like a drink, I could speak for myself I'm not expecting my husband to answer for me. Personally I was furious I felt this was unacceptable behavior clearly a lack of customer service training. I had hoped that this hotel had got rid of some sort of sexist behavior . The manager did come over and apologize explaining that the young man had only just started work there. Even if it was his first day, I really do think that in this century we could at least address people personally and not display such out of date attitudes. The manager could see I was angry and eventually in fact he waived the entire dinner bill which was something we had not expected and I would still have paid the bill anyway
